We have grass!!!

I know sometimes it really is the little things in life that brighten a day. Of course, this isn't really a "little" thing as it has been several weeks and many hours of work in the making. However there are moments where I feel slightly silly being so excited over grass. At long last Ethan finally will have a nice safe backyard to play in. No funky pond/mud pit, no thistle or other not so pleasant weeds, and no odd cement slab that we still don't know what it's purpose was (and no we didn't dig real far). Instead there are beautiful planter boxes, built in play area, leveled yard edged with stone with grass... lots of grass I might add. Of course there are still some things to finish the fence to be fixed, a little more stone to be placed, and Ethan's play area to be filled with rubber mulch.
There are many people that must be thanked for helping with this enormous project. Without them we would still be trying to get it all together. Words can not describe how grateful we are for Sean's best friend Jeff who has just about as many hours on this as we have included some days by himself while we were at work. This would not have been accomplished without that help. Then there are Matt, Justin, and Bryan who have helped run equipment, dig, rake, shovel, build, and take debris away. All of this done with only the reward of dinner (mostly burgers) and cookies. Have I mentioned what an amazing group of friends we have? Finally there are my Mom, Pam and Dad 2, Phillip who fed us and watched Ethan this last weekend while we were actually getting the sod in.
The results are really astounding and worth every bit of money and labor we have put in. Just a couple weeks to wait for it to set in and it'll be ready to play on!!!

From the patio... Jeff getting it all started

That section done with the sprinklers running!!

Headed towards the back of the yard... yes it was raining. We actually got rained out and had to finish on Sunday
