This last week has been full of wonders, and some pretty funny scenes. I am continually amazed at how quickly children develop at this age. It seems like there is something new daily. Sometimes it is a new word (cheese or juice), finally waving and saying bye-bye without being prompted (not that it worked even then), or doing some new unexpected action... it is those unexpected actions that completely catch me off guard.
Last week we come home from our shopping trip and turned around to find Ethan taking things out of the bags and handing them to us to put away... who cares that he was trying to give me hamburger to put in the pantry and giving Sean canned goods for the fridge. He has discovered that there is a place for those things and wants to be a part of that.
This week I walked into the bathroom to find him not playing in the cat's water dish (which is the norm), instead he is feeding them... taking one handful of food from the food container, putting it in the scoop, and walking it to their food dish. It was one of the funniest things I had seen... the cats of course were very happy with the turn of events.

Harry's Pub Pizza Bread

Ingredients:
1 package 3.5 ounces) pepperoni slices
1 can (3.25 ounces) sliced ripe olives
1 can (3.25 ounces) sliced mushrooms (optional)
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley (or dried parsley)
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp all-purpose flour (this is a must)
1 garlic cloves, pressed
2 packages (11 ounces each) refrigerated French bread dough
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
2 tbsp (1/2 ounce) grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce, warmed (optional)
Dice or cut the pepperoni slices into smaller strips. Drain the olive slices and the mushrooms, and put into bowl, add the pepperoni and/or other meats. Add parsley, Italian seasoning, Mozzarella, and Parmesan. Press the clove of garlic and mix together well.
On a cutting board, lay out waxed paper, sprinkle with flour (this really, really is a must.) Take the French bread dough, seam side up, and slice open, half way (do not cut all the way through.) With rolling pin, roll out the dough width-wise to create a well. Transfer to lightly greased cookie sheet.
Spoon on pizza sauce (I used regular spaghetti sauce...) add half the mixture to each French bread "well." Extra sauce can be then used as a dipping sauce. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
